Day 1Arrival Mexico City

Welcome to Mexico! A wonderful, varied trip to the Mexico highlights is waiting for you.

When you arrive at Mexico City airport,your driver will drive you to your hotel right in the center of Mexico City.

Day 2Mexico City Tour

Today you explore the first highlight of Mexico on your own: Mexico City is unique in the world between superlatives and contrasts.

The metropolis is one of the ten largest cities in the world. Visit the gigantic Zócalo with the baroque Metropolitan Cathedral,the Templo Mayor and the Palacio Nacional with impressive murals by Diego Rivera.

At the end of your tour, we recommend a visit to the fascinating Anthropological Museumwhich presents the history of Mexico in a very interesting and interactive way.

Alternatively, this excursion can also be carried out as a guided, German-speaking day tour.

Day 3Pyramids of Teotihuacan

Today you will be picked up early from the hotel and together in a small group you will set off to the impressive Pyramids of Teotihuacán. This famous ruin site was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987 and is one of the most important prehistoric ruined cities in America.. The temple city was built in the 6th century BC. and developed into the cultural and economic center of Central America with up to 200,000 inhabitants.

Day 4Mexico City - Puebla

After breakfast you will be picked up by your driver and driven to the bus station in Mexico City. There you take the safe and comfortable 1st class bus to Puebla.

Puebla is known for a rich culinary history, colonial architecture and the pottery craft.

Enjoy your free afternoon and discover Mexico’s fourth largest city on your own. Visit the main attractions such as the Cathedral and the Church of Santo Domingo.

Day 5Puebla - Oaxaca

Today you go independently to the bus station in Puebla and continue toOaxaca. Oaxaca is a beautiful, authentic city in the state of the same name and is also one of our Mexico highlights.

After your arrival, we recommend that you stretch your legs on a city tour on your own. Visit the Zócalo, the Cathedral, the Amparo Museum, the Chapel of the Rosario, the Palafoxiana Library and the colorful El Parián craft market.. Try the regional delicacies for which Oaxaca is world-famous.

Day 6Oaxaca

Today spend a free day in the picturesque city of Oaxaca.

Stroll through the many colorful alleys, stop off at one or two local restaurants and enjoy the unique, friendly atmosphere of Oaxaca. Oaxaca is called the “Heart of Mexico” for a reason.

Day 7Tule, Hierve el Agua & Teotitlán

You will be picked up from your hotel this morning to get to know another important highlight of Mexico: Hierve el Agua.

It’s worth getting up early because you’ll be able to see the famous“petrified waterfallsofHierve el Agua (English: “boiling water”) before all the other visitors. The bubbling springs are actually reminiscent of hot water, but in reality they are only a pleasant25 degrees warm.

On the way back you will make a stop in the authentic weaving village ofTeotitlán de Valle. There you will learn about the traditional weaving techniqueand, if you wish, you can buy a handmade souvenir for your loved ones at home.

Your final stop is the Tree of Tule. With a trunk diameter of 14,05 m the largest tree in the world stands here.. You shouldn’t miss this before you head back to your hotel in Oaxaca after an eventful day.

Day 8Domestic flight Oaxaca - Cancún

At the given time you will drive to Oaxaca airporttoday and take the flight to Cancún. The next Mexico highlights are waiting for you there.

Upon your arrival at the Cancún international airport When you arrive at Cancún airport, go straight to the rental car counter and collect your rental car. From there you drive to the beautiful colonial city of Valladolid.

End the evening comfortably there.

Day 9Rio Lagartos & Pink Lake "Las Coloradas

Today you drive to the nature reserve Rio Lagartos. There the journey continues by Boat (not included) through the still largely untouched nature.

In addition to a very diverse range of such as eagles, herons, crocodiles etc., the nature reserve is home to pink flamingos all year round. They gather there in sometimes very large colonies and breed.

Then you drive to the pink lake “Las Coloradaswhich looks most beautiful at lunchtime when the sun is strong. This Salt Lake is one of the largest salt factories in Mexicoand gets its pinkish color due to various sediments, minerals, high salt content and some special types of cancer.

Before you arrive back at your hotel in Valladolid, you will have the opportunity to visit theEk Balam archaeological site.

Day 10Chichén Itzá

A visit to the wonder of the world Chichén Itzá should not be missed on a trip to the Mexico highlights.

Chichén Itzá is the most important temple complex in Mexico, after Teotihuacán The ancient city was the most important capital of the Mayas during the Classic period (600 – 750 AD).. The impressive ruins have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCOand are one of the 7 New wonders of the world.

Take enough time to also visit the Planetarium and the sacred cenote. Then you drive back to Valladolid.

Day 11Cenote - Punta Laguna - Tulum

After a leisurely breakfast, you will drive to the Riviera Maya today.

On the way there, it is worth visiting the impressive Suytun cenote with its stalactites and stalagmites. There are over 4,000 of these cenotes, or freshwater caves, across the entire Yucatán Peninsula. For the local Maya, the mystical caves are still considered sacred and a gateway to the underworld.

Afterwards we recommend a visit to the beautiful Punta Laguna Natural Park. The park is run and managed by the local Mayan communities, who are dedicated to preserving their unique Mayan jungle. There are many activities in the park such as canoeing or kayaking on the beautiful lagoon, hiking, swimming, ziplining and much more. A special highlight are the small spider monkeys, which are native to Punta Laguna.

Afterwards you will continue to your hotel in the center of Tulum.

Day 12Ruins of Tulum

Visit the picturesque ruins of Tulum today. The El Castillo temple rises particularly majestically into the Caribbean Sea and is a popular photo and postcard motif.

Day 13Sian Kaan

For today we recommend a visit to the unique Sian Kaan Nature Park.

In the Mayan language, Sian Ka’an means “born of heaven,” and a stay in this nature reserve truly feels like a gift from heaven.

With its endless, pristine wetlands intersecting with secluded bays and inlets, coral reefs and mangrove forests, this protected area is a feast for the senses and one of the most important coastal nesting grounds in the Caribbean. Sian Ka’an is home to enormous biodiversity, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and enjoys special status under the Man and the Biosphere Project – a UNESCO initiative that aims to integrate local activities into protected areas through sustainable practices.

You drive about 1.5 hours from Tulum to the entrance to the Sian Kaan nature reserve. There you can take one of the many boat tours that are offered locally. You will be amazed by the large number of animals such as manatees, crocodiles, dolphins, turtles and much more.

Afterwards you drive back to Tulum.

Alternatively, we recommend taking a guided day tour on the Riviera Maya, e.g. snorkeling in the reef or cenotes, bike tour through the jungle, street food tour and much more.

Day 14Tulum - Cancún

Your unforgettable trip to the Mexico highlights is coming to an end today and we hope that you take many wonderful memories home with you.

At the given time you drive to Cancún airport, drop off your rental car and head home.
